Today, Elisabed’s dresses have found their way to women in 23 countries around the world. Yet every piece remains rooted in the same intimate process: one fabric, one idea, one woman, and one story at a time.

Elisabed’s studio is in Vera, one of Tbilisi’s old neighbourhoods, inside a beautiful and welcoming traditional Tbilisi home. It is a space chosen not only for its character, but for the warmth and comfort that Elisabed believes are essential to the creative process.

It is not a factory or a production line. It is a place of ideas, craftsmanship, music, conversation, fabric, and movement.

Elisabed sources imported fabrics in Tbilisi, including French, Italian, and Turkish materials. She also brings home special fabrics from her own travels. Each material is selected for its character, quality, comfort, and potential—not simply because it follows a seasonal trend.

Whenever possible, she chooses natural fabrics. When a design needs stretch, fluid movement, or a specific silhouette, she carefully selects the material that will best support it. The aim is always the same: a dress that feels beautiful, comfortable, and alive when worn.

Elisabed creates the design, develops the pattern, constructs the garment, and cuts every piece herself. Decorative details are sewn by hand, giving every finished piece its own quiet signature. She works alongside Victoria, her studio assistant, who helps sew the prepared pieces. Elisabed personally handles adjustments for custom orders—whether changing measurements or refining details—before the dress is assembled and finished.

Elisabed’s relationship with clothing began in childhood. At the age of twelve or thirteen, she was already making ballerina dresses and tiny hats for her dolls. Her mother, an accomplished seamstress, taught her the technical side of sewing and helped turn creative ideas into carefully made garments.

Although Elisabed did not follow a formal path in fashion design, sewing and creating have always been inseparable from her life. Before founding Elisabed Clothing, she spent more than 30 years creating made-to-order wedding gowns, evening dresses, and pieces for life’s most memorable occasions.

Then tango entered her world and opened a new creative chapter.

Tango brought movement, emotion, confidence, and freedom into her designs. Elisabed began reimagining evening dresses so they could move naturally with the body and feel as beautiful to dance in as they look. The result is clothing that is not limited to the dance floor: dresses inspired by tango, but made for life beyond it—celebrations, dinners, birthdays, special events, and evenings when you simply want to feel extraordinary.

Elisabed does not believe in creating clothes simply to fill a collection. She chooses to make only what she enjoys and believes in—pieces she herself would be happy to wear. For her, this work has never been only about income. That is why Elisabed Clothing is not built as a conveyor-belt business.

Most designs are created as one-of-a-kind pieces, and existing models are reproduced only when there is a request. Around 80% of Elisabed’s dresses are exclusive, individual creations.

Every dress is personal—from the first fabric choice to the final hand-sewn detail. It is made with attention, patience, skill, and emotion, for women who value individuality and want to wear something with a soul.
